To achieve these goals, Thermal Grizzly has closely collaborated with the well-known extreme overclocker Roman „der8auer” Hartung during product development and testing, developed chemical compositions, and analysed competitors. The first products in the area of thermal pastes, namely Kryonaut, Hydronaut, and Aeronaut, have been enthusiastically received by the community and have caused a stir in the overclocking scene due to their superior performance.
With the Conductonaut, Thermal Grizzly presents a high-performance paste based on liquid metal, consisting of a eutectic alloy intended for use at room temperature. Through a special mixing ratio of metals such as tin, gallium, and indium, an extremely high thermal conductivity is achieved along with excellent long-term stability. The liquid components can also compensate for and fill tiny pores and gaps, which is only partially possible with conventional thermal paste due to the solid particles. The metallic surface of the cooler and heatsink is wetted.
Crucial for the performance of a thermal interface material (TIM) is thermal conductivity. Made solely from the mentioned metallic substances, the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal thermal paste is significantly superior to alternatives, such as those based on silicone or only partially composed of solid oxides (like silver) or other metallic additives, and boasts an almost unmatched thermal conductivity of approximately 73 W/mK. Especially overclockers and silent fans will greatly appreciate the resulting benefits.
Attention overclockers! With this paste, the temperature of the processor can be reduced by a few degrees without having to purchase a new cooler. The application of the liquid metal is surprisingly easy, especially since the manufacturer includes the necessary accessories in the package. While using it for the first time may feel unfamiliar, it becomes quick and easy from the second application onwards. Nevertheless, the precautions mentioned below must be strictly observed!
In addition, the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut high-performance paste is extremely economical. The five grams of liquid metal theoretically suffice for more than 50 applications. And if too much liquid metal ends up on the processor, it can easily be drawn back into the syringe. A correct dosage is therefore very easy to achieve. On average, the amount of a half grain of rice is sufficient for a processor. Various web and print magazines have already confirmed the clear dominance of this unique thermal paste in detailed tests and reviews. Anyone looking to overclock or wanting a quiet system with optimal cooling performance should definitely take advantage of this!
Important application notes:
The Conductonaut liquid metal thermal paste must (1) not be used with contact surfaces made of aluminium and (2) must not come into contact with electrically conductive components! CPU coolers with aluminium cold plates cannot be used; instead, materials such as copper, nickel, or silver are recommended. Especially with Intel Haswell, Devil’s Canyon, and Broadwell processors, care must be taken to ensure that the liquid metal paste does not come into contact with the numerous technical components under or next to the heat spreader. There are also some contact points on Skylake CPUs that should be covered with tape for safety, and of course, appropriate caution is also required with AMD CPUs.
