The Phanteks Enthoo Pro Midi-Tower in Detail

The two-part tempered glass side window of the Enthoo Pro offers a superb view of built-in water-cooling systems, LED fans or simply RGB strips. The spacious interior offers plenty of room for high-end hardware. The removable plastic front has a brushed aluminium look and the slanted sides of the case give it a sleek aesthetic. At the top are the slots for up to three 5.25″ optical drives or controllers for fans or RGB lighting, all of which can be installed without tools. Phanteks directly incorporates a quiet 140 mm fan for proper case ventilation.

Phanteks also incorporates two HDD cages to allow three 3.5″ drives to be installed without the need for tools, alternatively three 2.5″ drives can also be mounted. Two additional 2,5″ drives can be mounted on the outer support for the HDD cages. Two further 2.5″ drives can be mounted to the optionally available brackets which can be installed on the reverse of the motherboard tray. This motherboard tray is also not only compatible with E-ATX boards but also SSI CEB server-grade boards. Both HDD cages can be removed in order to make more space for larger graphics cards, up to 472 mm in length rather than 347 mm. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro offers a total of eight expansion slots.

Plenty of Space for Fans

Installing so many components in a case also requires ample cooling. In addition to the 140 mm fan behind the front panel, Phanteks also supplies a 140 mm fan for the rear. In the front, the 140 mm fan can be expanded with the addition of another fan of the same size. Alternatively, two 120 mm fans or one 200 mm fan can also be installed in the top underneath the steel mesh. On the bottom, two 120 mm or 140 mm fans can be accommodated. Even the side panels of the HDD cages offer space for a 120 mm fan. Last but not least, the case offers compatibility with CPU coolers up to 193 mm high.

For those who prefer water to air, this case offers a generous amount of installation space. The front allows a 240 mm radiator to be installed. The top offers even more space – this area can accommodate a 360 mm or even a massive 420 mm radiator. The 140 mm fan in the rear can be replaced by either a compact 120 mm or 140 mm AiO radiator. The bottom of the case provides sufficient space for radiators up to 240 mm in size.

Excellent Cable Management

A high-end setup like this naturally requires an adequate power supply, in this case a power supply is located behind a removable covering on rubber feet. The underside comes with two additional fan filters on rails, allowing them to be easily removed for cleaning. The cables can be routed from the cover to the desired positions via the rear of the motherboard tray.

The carefully thought out cable management of the Phanteks Enthoo Pro is a desirable addition to a case in this price range. The power supply cover has oval gaps for cables on both sides, all of which come with rubber grommets that protect cables from any sharp edges, however here they also represent an attractive addition to the overall design of the case. The cables are attached to the rear of the motherboard tray with the Velcro straps or cable binders that Phanteks have bundled in with the case.

Perfect for Modders

The case also includes thumb screws with rubber buffers for attaching the side panels, which, like the case, are also made of high-grade steel. That aside, Phanteks has largely dispensed with rivets, meaning that most of the case components are simply screwed together. This is due to the fact that Phanteks knows so many of its customers are modders, and for that reason most of their cases are designed with that in mind

While Phanteks has placed the power switch on the cover, the I/O panel is hidden behind a flap above the three 5.25″ covers on the front panel. There are two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, plus one each for audio in and out. The LED control can also be used to control Phanteks RGB products and light them with 10 different color presets. To control the fans, a PWM hub is also integrated into the housing which can be controlled directly from the motherboard. Overall the Phanteks Enthoo Pro is a highly desirable case thanks to its large interior, well thought-out details and extensive customisability.
