Punches are designed for quick, precise marking of points on the surface of the processed material, e.g. wood, metal or plastic. They are most often used to mark a point before starting drilling. Punching makes it easier to start drilling, reducing the unfavorable effect of the drill sliding on the surface of the material. The marking is created by hitting the material with the sharp end of the punch. The traditional method of scoring requires the use of a hammer. Automatic punches mark the material thanks to the use of a strong internal spring that moves a hardened steel needle. Therefore, they eliminate the need to carry a heavy hammer. The punch does not require tensioning the spring – this is done automatically. Immediately after pressing the needle to the material and hitting, we can repeat the operation, marking another point. The punch has an adjustable impact force used for optimal adjustment to the hardness of the marked material.
