    Aprašymas

Polymaker™ PolyTerra™ PLA is a bioplastic-based 3D printing filament engineered for outstanding matte surface quality, excellent printability, and a reduced environmental footprint. The unique matte finish conceals layer lines even at larger layer heights, making it ideal for display models, figurines, and decorative prints. It prints easily on any FDM printer without special requirements, with overhang and bridging performance that can surpass standard PLA. Wound on a fully recycled cardboard spool with recycled labels and outer packaging — and for every spool sold, Polymaker plants one tree.

Note: Most PolyTerra™ PLA colours have been transitioned to the Panchroma™ Matte family. Same great formula and surface finish, new product name.

    Polymaker™ PolyTerra™ PLA – Next-Generation Matte PLA with an Eco-Conscious Design

PolyTerra™ PLA is a bioplastic-based 3D printing filament designed from the ground up to combine excellent print quality with a reduced environmental impact. By combining organic minerals with PLA, Polymaker has created a material that is tougher than regular PLA while maintaining easy printability — and one that produces a beautifully matte surface finish unlike any standard filament.

Note: Most PolyTerra™ PLA colours have been transitioned to the Panchroma™ Matte family. Same great formula and surface finish, new product name.

    Matte Surface Finish

The defining characteristic of PolyTerra™ PLA is its uniquely matte surface. The open-pore structure of the material conceals layer lines even when printing at larger layer heights, giving prints a clean, professional appearance without post-processing. The matte finish is consistent across the full colour range and makes PolyTerra™ PLA the first choice for display models, figurines, artistic pieces, and any print where appearance matters.

    Print Quality and Mechanical Properties

PolyTerra™ PLA prints exactly like standard PLA, requiring no changes to typical print settings. It features a wide printing temperature range of 190–230°C and works on any extrusion-based 3D printer without special requirements. Overhang and bridging performance can even surpass standard PLA, and the material is tougher than regular PLA while maintaining good stiffness — making it suitable for anything from figurines to functional fixtures.

    Easy Support Removal

PolyTerra™ PLA is designed with support removal in mind. In 9 out of 10 cases, supports can be removed by hand without any tools. The supports perform well both when printed directly onto the build platform and when building up from the model itself. This makes it possible to push the boundaries of your printer and create more complex geometries — functional, tough, and with a clean matte finish.

    Post-Processing

PolyTerra™ PLA is easy to sand — unlike regular PLA, the material does not roll into long beads or clog sandpaper. Power sanders can be used for larger prints, quickly smoothing surfaces without damaging the material. The open-pore surface allows paint to adhere strongly, and the inert nature of the compound makes it compatible with a wide range of paints.

    Printing Behaviour

PolyTerra™ PLA requires no enclosure and no heated bed, though a heated bed at 25–60°C is recommended for best adhesion. The cooling fan should be on during printing. No special hotend is required. For moisture-sensitive environments, the filament can be dried at 55°C for 6 hours if needed.

    Print Settings

    • Printing temperature: 190°C – 230°C
    • Bed temperature: 25°C – 60°C
    • Printing speed: 30 – 70 mm/s
    • Cooling fan: On
    • Direct drive retraction: 1 mm / 20 mm/s
    • Bowden retraction: 3 mm / 40 mm/s

    Handling and Storage

Store in an airtight container with desiccant when not in use. If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry at 55°C for 6 hours before printing.

    Typical Applications

    • Display models, figurines, and decorative prints
    • Artistic and aesthetic prints benefiting from a matte finish
    • Prototypes and general-purpose functional parts
    • Prints requiring painting or sanding
    • Environmentally conscious printing projects

    Eco-Conscious Packaging and Sustainability

PolyTerra™ PLA is wound on a fully recycled cardboard spool, and all labels and outer packaging are made from recycled materials. Unnecessary packaging has been eliminated to minimise waste. The bioplastic formulation is designed to degrade faster than regular PLA under industrial composting conditions — a step forward in improving the end-of-life profile of 3D printing materials. In addition, Polymaker plants one tree for every spool of PolyTerra sold, near the region of purchase.
