The GODOX MF12 Macro Flash is a compact flash designed specifically for macro photography, allowing you to capture sharp and striking images of small subjects from very close range. It’s perfect for photographing plants, insects, animals, or fine details, providing precise lighting exactly where it’s needed. It can be used as a single flash, or, when expanded with additional units and a compatible mounting ring (sold separately), it can create a versatile lighting system with a ring light effect or other lighting configurations tailored to a specific scene.

Macro photography requires precision, which is why the MF12 was designed to make it easier to illuminate even very small subjects. The adjustable head allows you to quickly set the desired angle of light, bringing out the texture, colors, and finest details of your subject. The lamp’s compact size makes it nearly invisible during use, allowing it to effectively illuminate the subject without appearing in the frame.

Expand your kit and create your own lighting effects

The MF12 allows you to gradually expand your lighting system. The kit includes one light that can be mounted on a lens using a mounting ring and an adapter matched to the lens diameter (sold separately). Adding more MF12 lights allows you to create more advanced lighting setups, tailored to various photographic scenarios and your own shooting style.

In macro photography, the direction of the light is of paramount importance. Each MF12 lamp can be freely rotated to any angle and slid along the mounting ring, making it easy to precisely shape the lighting. This makes it easy to highlight the texture of your subject, reduce unwanted shadows, or create an entirely new look for your photo. This solution encourages experimentation and gives you greater control over the final result.

High-capacity battery for long sessions and wireless control

The built-in lithium battery provides up to 500 full-power flashes, and the short capacitor recharge time—ranging from 0.01 to 1.7 seconds—allows you to efficiently take consecutive shots, which you’ll especially appreciate when photographing fast-moving subjects, such as insects. When the battery runs out, you can conveniently recharge the flash using a USB-C cable. 2.4G wireless communication enables remote control of the flash and greater freedom in organizing your photo shoot, and support for 5 groups and 32 channels helps minimize interference when working with multiple wireless lighting systems, ensuring convenient management of your lighting setup.
