The GL.iNet Comet PoE (GL-RM1PE) is an advanced KVM switch that enables full remote management of computers, servers, and network devices over the Internet. With support for 4K@30 FPS video, bidirectional audio, latency of 30–60 ms, and access via a web browser, it allows you to work with the device as if you were sitting right in front of it. PoE power, built-in 32 GB eMMC storage, and Tailscale support make it a practical solution for IT administrators, data centers, businesses, and advanced home users.

Remote Access Without Apps or Subscriptions

Comet PoE enables remote control of devices via a web browser running on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It requires no additional software installation or paid subscriptions. The built-in cloud service allows for quick access to devices, and Tailscale support makes it easy to establish secure connections between locations.

4K video and two-way audio

The device supports video transmission at resolutions up to 4K at 30 frames per second, using hardware-based H.264 encoding. This ensures smooth video during system configuration, diagnostics, and day-to-day administrative tasks. Additionally, two-way audio enables voice communication, remote technical support, and more comfortable collaboration during service sessions.

PoE Power and Simpler Installation

Support for the IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE standards allows power and data to be transmitted over a single Ethernet cable. This solution reduces the number of cables, simplifies installation, and is particularly well-suited for server racks and spaces with limited room. The device can also be powered via a USB-C port compatible with Power Delivery (5 V / 2 A).

32 GB of eMMC storage for greater functionality

The built-in 32 GB eMMC storage provides space for system logs, recovery images, configuration backups, and other files needed for managing IT infrastructure. This allows many tasks to be performed without the need for additional external storage devices, which increases convenience and simplifies workstation organization.

Remote power management and full hardware control

Comet PoE works with additional accessories, such as the ATX Power Control Board and Fingerbot, enabling remote power-on, power-off, and reboot of devices. The built-in Wake on LAN feature allows you to wake up computers over the network, and access to the hardware at the BIOS level makes it easier to troubleshoot issues without having to visit the site in person. This is particularly useful in server rooms, company branches, and locations without permanent technical support.

Flexible Deployment for Businesses and Advanced Users

The device supports standalone operation on Linux and Ubuntu systems, allowing you to run your own remote access server and maintain full control over your working environment. Thanks to its compact 102 × 70 × 22 mm enclosure and the availability of a 3D-printable mount design, the Comet PoE can be easily integrated into existing server infrastructure.
